PRESIDENT’S PERSPECTIVE

We have restructured our corporate management staff resulting in new officers/titles as follows:

Phyllis Carpenter, President
Richard Saathoff, Executive Vice-President
Elaine Anghel, Vice-President – Management Services
Jean-Marie Bellington, Vice-President - Operations

Our work with the two major industry-related organizations locally continues. On March 4, 2007, five members of our staff volunteered for the Arizona Association of Community Managers (AACM) Outreach Committee on a project. The Outreach Committee is responsible for determining the recipients of the HOPE Grant and to decide on outreach projects to give back to the community.

Pine Towers is a low-income property for the elderly and persons with disabilities. It is owned and operated by the City of Phoenix Housing Dept. In a partnership with the City, AACM volunteered to make some enhancements to this community.

Following the frost damage over the winter, AACM, its volunteer employees from various management companies and affiliate partners, trimmed and thinned trees, planted new landscaping, replenished and spread new granite and replaced stepping stones with (8) concrete sidewalks from the units to the center community facility and courtyard, to enable residents with wheelchairs and walkers to be able to safely join the remainder of the community in group activities.

Approximately 60 volunteers provided landscaping equipment, plants, granite and man power to transform the courtyard and perimeter of the Pine Towers. Residents watched with excitement as their community received this much-needed face lift.

Tri-City employees who volunteered and helped with this project were Debbie Rudd, Pat Morici, Dawn Haskin, Rolinda Titus and Jean-Marie Bellington. A huge thanks to them for helping with this community project.

On another note, at a Community Association Institute luncheon held on March 22, 2007, Elaine Anghel, our Vice-President of Management Services, was given a plaque for “Outstanding Volunteer Award” for her “exceptional service to the CAI Chapter”. The award was presented by the Board of Directors of CAI. Elaine serves as the Chair of two CAI Committees: Annual Sponsorship/Membership and the Magazine Committee.
